January 26, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5528 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2539 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3436 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO), Office Depot Inc. (NASDAQ:ODP), Weyerhaeuser Co. (NYSE:WY), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PFE $-0.020 -0.00% 11,684,765 37.65% 6,435,475 20.74% 5,249,290 Abnormal
  INTC $-0.400 -0.01% 12,316,242 38.77% 10,112,271 31.83% 2,203,971 Abnormal
  YHOO $-0.320 -0.01% 4,759,448 47.76% 2,151,926 21.59% 2,607,522 Abnormal
  ODP $-0.150 -0.03% 5,105,926 64.05% 1,759,675 22.07% 3,346,251 Abnormal
  WY $-0.390 -0.01% 5,971,987 62.96% 1,247,070 13.15% 4,724,917 Abnormal
  GDXJ $-1.040 -0.03% 7,595,303 32.87% 4,587,612 19.85% 3,007,691 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE with 5,249,290 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.02000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
