November 2, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5309 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1615 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4627 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Palatin Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:PTN), Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ:SYMC), Brocade Communications Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:BRCD), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Genworth Financial Inc. (NYSE:GNW), Office Depot Inc. (NASDAQ:ODP). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PTN $0.090 0.18% 9,887,067 32.20% 10,898,472 35.50% -1,011,405 Abnormal
  SYMC $0.010 0.00% 3,356,463 27.97% 4,731,558 39.43% -1,375,095 Abnormal
  BRCD $1.080 0.10% 42,093,879 39.88% 45,983,978 43.57% -3,890,099 Abnormal
  AAPL $0.070 0.00% 7,380,522 26.39% 8,622,800 30.84% -1,242,278 Abnormal
  GNW $0.170 0.04% 3,512,507 26.98% 4,669,750 35.87% -1,157,243 Abnormal
  ODP $0.460 0.15% 6,447,025 32.72% 7,425,170 37.68% -978,145 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PTN with 1,011,405 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.09000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
