October 6, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5638 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2388 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3567 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ICU Medical Inc. (NASDAQ:ICUI), Georgetown Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ:GTWN), PhotoMedex Inc. (NASDAQ:PHMD), CANNAGROW HOLDINGS (OTC:CGRW), Neptun SA (NASDAQ:NEPT), Vanguard Natural Resources LLC (NASDAQ:VNRBP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  ICUI $18.720 0.15% 473,055 39.21% 401,815 33.31% 71,240 38
  GTWN $4.570 0.22% 179,830 64.11% 29,425 10.49% 150,405 329
  PHMD $0.200 0.17% 383,400 41.12% 342,174 36.70% 41,226 2,061
  CGRW $0.400 0.37% 509,604 53.56% 414,456 43.56% 95,148 2,379
  NEPT $0.250 0.22% 1,157,049 37.84% 1,132,942 37.05% 24,107 964
  VNRBP $0.300 0.18% 38,864 37.16% 31,691 30.30% 7,173 239
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ICUI with a dollar gain Thursday of $18.72000 and a Friction Factor of 38 shares. That means that it only took 38 more shares of buying than selling to move ICUI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
