May 7, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3913 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3235 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2077 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. EMC Corp (NYSE:EMC), RXi Pharmaceuticals Corp (OTC:RXII), Firesteel Resources Inc (NASDAQ:FTR), Medical Marijuana Inc (OTC:MJNA), MMRGlobal Inc (OTC:MMRF), (NASDAQ:BBRY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EMC $-0.140 -0.60% 3,688,598 23.13% 5,877,868 36.85% -2,189,270 -156,376
  RXII $-0.020 -10.00% 522,753 13.49% 3,352,629 86.51% -2,829,876 -1,414,938
  FTR $-0.090 -2.20% 12,477,698 45.82% 14,751,585 54.17% -2,273,887 -252,654
  MJNA $-0.012 -6.70% 1,408,818 30.90% 3,149,742 69.10% -1,740,924 -1,450,770
  MMRF $-0.018 -20.69% 5,243,763 36.60% 9,084,603 63.40% -3,840,840 -2,133,800
  BBRY $-0.800 -5.14% 16,009,631 45.36% 18,732,565 53.07% -2,722,934 -34,037
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EMC down $-0.14000 with a Friction Factor of -156,376 and a Net Volume of -2,189,270. That means that it takes 156,376 more shares of selling than buying to drop EMC by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
