May 7, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3913 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3235 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2077 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Appliance Recycling Centers Of America Inc (NASDAQ:ARCI), Nautilus Inc (NYSE:NLS), Interactive Intelligence Group Inc (NASDAQ:ININ), Affymax Inc (NASDAQ:AFFY), Reed's Inc (NASDAQ:REED), Blue Earth Inc (OTC:BBLU). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  ARCI $0.420 28.38% 371,670 57.71% 272,329 42.29% 99,341 2,365
  NLS $1.350 19.97% 990,777 36.14% 966,638 35.26% 24,139 179
  ININ $8.000 19.05% 234,950 54.48% 195,676 45.38% 39,274 49
  AFFY $0.360 44.98% 11,429,716 54.15% 9,679,363 45.85% 1,750,353 48,621
  REED $0.990 23.80% 167,403 40.54% 144,632 35.02% 22,771 230
  BBLU $0.280 20.59% 152,184 63.22% 59,808 24.84% 92,376 3,299
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ARCI with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.42000 and a Friction Factor of 2,365 shares. That means that it only took 2,365 more shares of buying than selling to move ARCI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
