April 29, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3676 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3628 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1763 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Rentech Inc (AMEX:RTK), Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), Petroleo Brasileiro SA Petrobras (NYSE:PBR), WELLS FARGO & COMPANY (NYSE:WFC), Vishay Intertechnology Inc (NYSE:VSH), Dean Foods Co (NYSE:DF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction RTK $0.030 1.46% 2,660,516 52.67% 644,973 12.77% 2,015,543 671,848 AAPL $12.890 3.09% 12,780,063 56.34% 9,181,093 40.48% 3,598,970 2,792 PBR $1.180 6.54% 11,302,077 31.43% 9,423,770 26.20% 1,878,307 15,918 WFC $0.010 0.02% 5,967,829 37.57% 4,163,098 26.21% 1,804,731 1,804,731 VSH $0.370 2.97% 2,428,542 65.79% 581,862 15.76% 1,846,680 49,910 DF $0.030 0.16% 2,945,668 63.56% 962,372 20.77% 1,983,296 661,099Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows RTK with a Net Buy Volume of 2,015,543 shares and a Friction Factor of 671,848 shares. That means that it takes 671,848 more shares of buying than selling to move RTK higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
