April 26, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3831 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2102 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3066 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Microvision Inc (NASDAQ:MVIS), National Bank of Greece SA (NYSE:NBG), Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ), LogMeIn Inc (NASDAQ:LOGM), Jinkosolar Holding Co Ltd (NYSE:JKS), SemiLEDs Corp (NASDAQ:LEDS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MVIS $0.270 14.59% 385,147 59.57% 261,349 40.43% 123,798 4,585
  NBG $0.230 25.34% 7,857,456 37.20% 6,987,230 33.08% 870,226 37,836
  CSIQ $0.710 15.20% 1,735,146 62.17% 1,045,316 37.45% 689,830 9,716
  LOGM $3.870 21.67% 1,067,420 51.05% 1,017,975 48.69% 49,445 128
  JKS $0.850 12.88% 294,205 39.43% 231,234 30.99% 62,971 741
  LEDS $0.300 20.55% 1,083,913 54.87% 883,298 44.72% 200,615 6,687
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MVIS with a dollar gain Friday of $0.27000 and a Friction Factor of 4,585 shares. That means that it only took 4,585 more shares of buying than selling to move MVIS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
