April 25, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3963 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3342 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1941 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY), Intuit Inc (NASDAQ:INTU), Broadcom Corp (NASDAQ:BRCM), INTEL CORPORATION (NASDAQ:INTC), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR), Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EBAY $-0.570 -1.08% 6,263,282 54.57% 5,122,729 44.63% 1,140,553 Abnormal
  INTU $-7.100 -11.06% 8,757,148 55.00% 6,505,853 40.86% 2,251,295 Abnormal
  BRCM $-0.480 -1.38% 6,866,050 53.39% 5,914,061 45.99% 951,989 Abnormal
  INTC $-0.300 -1.27% 87,199,174 79.87% 21,029,408 19.26% 66,169,766 Abnormal
  CLWR $-0.020 -0.60% 5,716,801 66.64% 2,861,759 33.36% 2,855,042 Abnormal
  ZNGA $-0.240 -7.14% 31,688,583 53.22% 27,852,971 46.78% 3,835,612 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EBAY with 1,140,553 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.57000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
