April 19, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3968 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3229 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1858 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Dell Inc (NASDAQ:DELL), Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK), General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), Hewlett-Packard Co (NYSE:HPQ), Corning Inc (NYSE:GLW). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DELL $-0.560 -4.01% 40,925,834 43.61% 52,033,709 55.45% -11,107,875 -198,355
  NOK $-0.100 -3.15% 16,163,411 27.09% 24,435,337 40.96% -8,271,926 -827,193
  GE $-0.910 -4.01% 31,450,535 29.16% 39,000,023 36.16% -7,549,488 -82,961
  CSCO $-0.280 -1.38% 19,479,657 38.35% 29,764,911 58.59% -10,285,254 -367,331
  HPQ $-0.650 -3.22% 7,529,327 26.80% 9,537,039 33.94% -2,007,712 -30,888
  GLW $-0.190 -1.45% 4,309,333 29.20% 6,166,521 41.79% -1,857,188 -97,747
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DELL down $-0.56000 with a Friction Factor of -198,355 and a Net Volume of -11,107,875. That means that it takes 198,355 more shares of selling than buying to drop DELL by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
