April 1, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4012 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1747 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3563 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Monday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), Hewlett-Packard Co (NYSE:HPQ), Ford Motor Co (NYSE:F), ENERGYSOLUTIONS INC (NYSE:ES), RESOURCE VENTURES INC (OTC:REVI), Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BAC $-0.030 -0.25% 26,092,231 30.55% 31,283,813 36.63% -5,191,582 -1,730,527
  HPQ $-0.530 -2.22% 7,463,354 29.59% 9,011,085 35.72% -1,547,731 -29,202
  F $-0.230 -1.75% 9,655,928 29.34% 11,723,306 35.62% -2,067,378 -89,886
  ES $-0.030 -0.80% 571,784 10.98% 2,135,241 41.01% -1,563,457 -521,152
  REVI $-0.034 -40.48% 1,318,126 27.11% 3,543,476 72.89% -2,225,350 -654,515
  ZNGA $-0.190 -5.65% 10,043,471 39.43% 15,400,065 60.46% -5,356,594 -281,926
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BAC down $-0.03000 with a Friction Factor of -1,730,527 and a Net Volume of -5,191,582. That means that it takes 1,730,527 more shares of selling than buying to drop BAC by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
