February 15, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3987 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2646 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2617 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. H.J. Heinz Co (NYSE:HNZ), Polycom Inc (NASDAQ:PLCM), Medical Marijuana Inc (OTC:MJNA), Nielsen Holdings NV (NYSE:NLSN), Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA), (NASDAQ:BBRY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  HNZ $-0.270 -0.37% 6,182,066 26.17% 9,104,534 38.55% -2,922,468 -108,240
  PLCM $-0.170 -1.69% 2,052,919 24.71% 6,241,269 75.13% -4,188,350 -246,374
  MJNA $-0.095 -21.59% 32,101,115 42.46% 43,497,472 57.54% -11,396,357 -1,199,617
  NLSN $-0.160 -0.49% 4,365,139 21.94% 7,550,226 37.94% -3,185,087 -199,068

  BBRY $-0.930 -6.17% 43,548,177 47.13% 48,253,255 52.22% -4,705,078 -50,592
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows HNZ down $-0.27000 with a Friction Factor of -108,240 and a Net Volume of -2,922,468. That means that it takes 108,240 more shares of selling than buying to drop HNZ by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
