January 15, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4029 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2862 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2517 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Tuesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE:XLY), General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), Rite Aid Corp (NYSE:RAD), JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM), Ford Motor Co (NYSE:F), Advanced Micro Devices Inc (NYSE:AMD). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLY $0.360 0.73% 3,974,708 45.33% 1,385,424 15.80% 2,589,284 71,925
  GE $0.040 0.19% 9,874,728 37.80% 7,188,358 27.52% 2,686,370 671,593
  RAD $0.070 4.83% 11,589,922 47.58% 7,445,321 30.57% 4,144,601 592,086
  JPM $0.480 1.05% 10,452,894 35.49% 7,694,090 26.12% 2,758,804 57,475
  F $0.290 2.07% 20,560,099 37.39% 17,931,629 32.61% 2,628,470 90,637
  AMD $0.040 1.52% 9,576,455 41.26% 5,361,849 23.10% 4,214,606 1,053,652
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLY with a Net Buy Volume of 2,589,284 shares and a Friction Factor of 71,925 shares. That means that it takes 71,925 more shares of buying than selling to move XLY higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Tuesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
