January 9, 2013 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3947 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3332 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2031 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. DELTA AIR LINES INC (NYSE:DAL), General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), Rite Aid Corp (NYSE:RAD), PepsiCo Inc (NYSE:PEP), Oracle Corp (NASDAQ:ORCL), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  DAL $0.130 1.00% 2,909,388 28.49% 4,067,592 39.84% -1,158,204 Abnormal
  GE $0.060 0.29% 8,844,350 31.30% 10,022,466 35.46% -1,178,116 Abnormal
  RAD $0.050 3.76% 4,744,709 29.49% 7,253,309 45.08% -2,508,600 Abnormal
  PEP $0.360 0.51% 1,596,860 25.45% 2,787,291 44.43% -1,190,431 Abnormal
  ORCL $0.020 0.07% 8,458,894 44.73% 10,324,445 54.60% -1,865,551 Abnormal
  CLWR $0.210 7.19% 37,523,062 44.67% 46,481,641 55.33% -8,958,579 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DAL with 1,158,204 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.13000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
