October 25, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4034 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2883 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2331 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. ArcelorMittal (NYSE:MT), AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), RF MICRO DEVICES, INC. (NASDAQ:RFMD), Corning Inc (NYSE:GLW), Powershares Qqq Trust Series 1 (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MT $-0.080 -0.51% 3,613,010 50.01% 1,268,488 17.56% 2,344,522 Abnormal
  T $-0.260 -0.76% 7,543,781 34.22% 5,992,036 27.18% 1,551,745 Abnormal
  CSCO $-0.180 -1.04% 23,688,402 51.64% 21,857,111 47.65% 1,831,291 Abnormal
  RFMD $-0.080 -1.83% 6,194,191 54.60% 5,038,564 44.41% 1,155,627 Abnormal
  GLW $-0.060 -0.49% 8,916,669 39.27% 6,677,938 29.41% 2,238,731 Abnormal
  QQQ $-0.150 -0.24% 18,917,167 55.00% 15,184,255 44.15% 3,732,912 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MT with 2,344,522 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.08000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
