October 24, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4115 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2246 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2797 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. F5 Networks Inc (NASDAQ:FFIV), Synacor Inc (NASDAQ:SYNC), DHT Holdings Inc (NYSE:DHT), Sprintex Ltd (NYSE:SIX), Monster Worldwide Inc (NYSE:MWW), Omnitek Engineering Corp (OTC:OMTK). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  FFIV $-11.560 -12.10% 1,431,849 47.80% 1,538,531 51.36% -106,682 -92
  SYNC $-0.770 -12.85% 184,772 43.90% 235,888 56.05% -51,116 -664
  DHT $-0.810 -15.20% 172,420 29.78% 237,457 41.02% -65,037 -803
  SIX $-6.180 -9.91% 1,068,769 33.71% 1,212,453 38.24% -143,684 -232
  MWW $-0.720 -9.94% 1,648,589 33.36% 1,797,553 36.37% -148,964 -2,069
  OMTK $-0.110 -9.48% 57,850 25.36% 160,616 70.42% -102,766 -9,342
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FFIV with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-11.56000 and a Friction Factor of -92 shares. That means that it only took 92 more shares of selling than buying to move FFIV lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
