October 8, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3813 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1811 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3228 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C), UTI WORLDWIDE INC (NASDAQ:UTIW), EXXON MOBIL CORPORATION (NYSE:XOM), Eli Lilly and Co (NYSE:LLY), Banco Santander Brasil SA (NYSE:BSBR), (:BSMX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction C $0.010 0.03% 7,551,135 36.86% 6,014,873 29.36% 1,536,262 1,536,262 UTIW $0.150 1.10% 1,696,195 65.17% 759,358 29.18% 936,837 62,456 XOM $0.130 0.14% 2,706,641 30.96% 1,649,500 18.87% 1,057,141 81,319 LLY $2.550 5.29% 8,018,379 27.91% 7,102,211 24.72% 916,168 3,593 BSBR $0.090 1.23% 2,465,857 25.93% 1,353,559 14.24% 1,112,298 123,589 BSMX $0.140 0.99% 2,696,585 44.19% 1,612,460 26.43% 1,084,125 77,438Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows C with a Net Buy Volume of 1,536,262 shares and a Friction Factor of 1,536,262 shares. That means that it takes 1,536,262 more shares of buying than selling to move C higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
