September 7, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4076 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3523 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1937 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), Kraft Foods Inc (NYSE:KFT), Micron Technology Inc (NASDAQ:MU), Advanced Micro Devices Inc (NYSE:AMD), Resource Capital Corp (NYSE:RSO), Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SIRI $-0.030 -1.18% 26,581,309 48.63% 27,839,364 50.93% -1,258,055 -419,352
  KFT $-2.290 -5.42% 21,669,736 46.95% 24,214,714 52.47% -2,544,978 -11,113
  MU $-0.270 -3.97% 25,631,979 40.24% 29,380,484 46.13% -3,748,505 -138,834
  AMD $-0.180 -4.92% 7,469,926 24.18% 13,674,675 44.26% -6,204,749 -344,708
  RSO $-0.220 -3.61% 3,277,787 28.93% 4,527,064 39.96% -1,249,277 -56,785
  ZNGA $-0.020 -0.85% 1,770,241 37.99% 2,889,463 62.01% -1,119,222 -559,611
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SIRI down $-0.03000 with a Friction Factor of -419,352 and a Net Volume of -1,258,055. That means that it takes 419,352 more shares of selling than buying to drop SIRI by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
