August 28, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4201 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2531 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2645 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Kraft Foods Inc (NYSE:KFT), Eli Lilly and Co (NYSE:LLY), HERTZ GLOBAL HOLDINGS, INC. (NYSE:HTZ), Sea Breeze Power Corp (NYSE:SBX), Powershares Qqq Trust Series 1 (NASDAQ:QQQ), (OTC:PRTN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  KFT $0.140 0.33% 4,067,550 43.03% 5,345,754 56.56% -1,278,204 Abnormal
  LLY $0.130 0.29% 3,747,882 28.27% 4,741,876 35.77% -993,994 Abnormal
  HTZ $0.170 1.18% 2,351,438 22.71% 3,543,301 34.22% -1,191,863 Abnormal
  SBX $2.690 32.53% 2,634,436 25.76% 4,608,158 45.06% -1,973,722 Abnormal
  QQQ $0.030 0.04% 13,388,988 49.01% 17,643,266 64.59% -4,254,278 Abnormal
  PRTN $0.020 5.46% 7,609,493 41.63% 10,670,410 58.37% -3,060,917 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows KFT with 1,278,204 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.14000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
