August 7, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3959 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3406 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1951 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Advanced Oxygen Technologies Inc (OTC:AOXY), Leap Wireless International Inc (NASDAQ:LEAP), Comcast Corp (NASDAQ:CMCSA), SUPERVALU Inc (NYSE:SVU), NII Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:NIHD), United Continental Holdings Inc (NYSE:UAL). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  AOXY $-0.014 -34.18% 1,340,064 79.59% 343,606 20.41% 996,458 Abnormal
  LEAP $-1.090 -19.75% 5,076,276 56.41% 3,880,527 43.12% 1,195,749 Abnormal
  CMCSA $-0.390 -1.12% 9,756,044 53.77% 8,240,332 45.41% 1,515,712 Abnormal
  SVU $-0.030 -1.28% 2,452,294 40.20% 1,457,021 23.89% 995,273 Abnormal
  NIHD $-1.970 -24.41% 14,110,072 57.36% 10,154,163 41.28% 3,955,909 Abnormal
  UAL $-0.060 -0.32% 2,875,496 33.66% 1,997,396 23.38% 878,100 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AOXY with 996,458 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.01350. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
