July 13, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3715 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3928 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1562 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Presidential Life Corp (NASDAQ:PLFE), Marvell Technology Group Ltd (NASDAQ:MRVL), Chimera Investment Corp (NYSE:CIM), INTEL CORPORATION (NASDAQ:INTC), Peabody Energy Corp (NYSE:BTU), Ford Motor Co (NYSE:F). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PLFE $3.720 36.69% 1,408,785 34.81% 2,635,352 65.12% -1,226,567 Abnormal
  MRVL $0.090 0.86% 4,705,750 39.29% 7,264,060 60.65% -2,558,310 Abnormal
  CIM $0.010 0.43% 3,250,592 26.77% 6,168,811 50.80% -2,918,219 Abnormal
  INTC $0.520 2.10% 16,776,665 47.07% 18,809,705 52.77% -2,033,040 Abnormal
  BTU $0.200 0.90% 1,527,482 20.02% 2,604,666 34.13% -1,077,184 Abnormal
  F $0.140 1.53% 8,449,344 28.15% 10,490,373 34.95% -2,041,029 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PLFE with 1,226,567 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $3.72000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
