June 13, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3532 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1765 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3757 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. MITEK SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:MITK), SPANISH BROADCASTING SYS-A (NASDAQ:SBSA), DENDREON CORP (NASDAQ:DNDN), Double Eagle Petroleum Co (NASDAQ:DBLE), E-COMMERCE CHINA-SPON ADR (NYSE:DANG), BIOSTAR PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:BSPM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MITK $0.330 13.75% 776,515 55.88% 606,314 43.63% 170,201 5,158
  SBSA $0.470 14.20% 91,164 53.10% 78,433 45.68% 12,731 271
  DNDN $0.940 15.04% 12,810,196 50.26% 12,338,970 48.41% 471,226 5,013
  DBLE $0.480 12.73% 87,728 52.52% 79,215 47.42% 8,513 177
  DANG $0.570 10.71% 600,782 34.81% 541,857 31.39% 58,925 1,034
  BSPM $0.390 36.45% 860,572 50.16% 827,650 48.24% 32,922 844
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MITK with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.33000 and a Friction Factor of 5,158 shares. That means that it only took 5,158 more shares of buying than selling to move MITK higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
