June 13, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3532 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1765 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3757 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Asantae Holdings International Inc (NASDAQ:JVA), Casey's General Stores Inc (NASDAQ:CASY), A123 SYSTEMS, INCORPORATION (NASDAQ:AONE), OSAGE EXPLORATION & DEVELOPM (OTCBB:OEDV), AFRICA OIL CORP (OTC:AOIFF), (NYSE:MPO). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  JVA $-1.110 -15.25% 359,867 48.92% 373,794 50.82% -13,927 -125
  CASY $-7.730 -12.90% 1,127,094 48.18% 1,133,732 48.46% -6,638 -9
  AONE $-0.240 -15.19% 6,597,256 49.64% 6,693,639 50.36% -96,383 -4,016
  OEDV $-0.180 -15.00% 131,622 30.94% 133,056 31.27% -1,434 -80
  AOIFF $-1.476 -15.53% 45,977 25.98% 47,593 26.89% -1,616 -11
  MPO $-1.650 -13.26% 531,611 30.97% 620,115 36.12% -88,504 -536
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows JVA with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-1.11000 and a Friction Factor of -125 shares. That means that it only took 125 more shares of selling than buying to move JVA lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
