June 7, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4025 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2598 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2635 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. LCA Vision Inc (NASDAQ:LCAV), PARAMETRIC SOUND CORP (NASDAQ:PAMT), TRAVELCENTERS OF AMERICA LLC (AMEX:TA), ORIGINOIL INC (OTCBB:OOIL), IDENTIVE GROUP INC (NASDAQ:INVE), (AMEX:BONE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  LCAV $0.570 11.95% 76,033 57.24% 56,196 42.31% 19,837 348
  PAMT $1.000 15.38% 66,405 55.35% 52,463 43.73% 13,942 139
  TA $0.670 14.05% 409,663 38.91% 337,276 32.03% 72,387 1,080
  OOIL $0.150 17.65% 58,284 59.60% 26,494 27.09% 31,790 2,119
  INVE $0.140 14.47% 697,191 50.40% 688,750 49.79% 8,441 603
  BONE $0.160 13.33% 244,997 34.56% 241,731 34.10% 3,266 204
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LCAV with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.57000 and a Friction Factor of 348 shares. That means that it only took 348 more shares of buying than selling to move LCAV higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
