June 7, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4025 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2598 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2635 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. CPI AEROSTRUCTURES INC (AMEX:CVU), ZION OIL & GAS INC (NASDAQ:ZN), REED'S INC (NASDAQ:REED), (NYSE:BOIL), (NASDAQ:UBNT), (NYSE:UGAZ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CVU $-1.800 -12.74% 25,677 14.81% 49,834 28.75% -24,157 -134
  ZN $-0.230 -10.75% 184,055 45.70% 220,769 54.81% -36,714 -1,596
  REED $-0.780 -18.66% 199,056 40.75% 288,766 59.12% -89,710 -1,150
  BOIL $-4.590 -12.29% 109,824 31.57% 120,848 34.74% -11,024 -24
  UBNT $-2.300 -14.47% 749,238 48.24% 785,162 50.55% -35,924 -156
  UGAZ $-3.870 -18.18% 44,014 24.72% 56,855 31.93% -12,841 -33
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CVU with a dollar loss Thursday of $-1.80000 and a Friction Factor of -134 shares. That means that it only took 134 more shares of selling than buying to move CVU lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
