June 5, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3863 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3297 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2140 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. IFM INVESTMENTS LTD-ADS (NYSE:CTC), Carrols Restaurant Group Inc (NASDAQ:TAST), Cleveland BioLabs Inc (NASDAQ:CBLI), PATRIOT COAL CORP (NYSE:PCX), DOMARK INTERNATIONAL INC (OTCBB:DOMK), JBI INC (OTC:JBII). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CTC $-0.150 -12.39% 34,368 35.66% 55,504 57.59% -21,136 -1,409
  TAST $-0.650 -11.45% 1,172,328 46.04% 1,496,464 58.77% -324,136 -4,987
  CBLI $-0.270 -13.04% 563,849 44.34% 704,886 55.42% -141,037 -5,224
  PCX $-0.280 -12.67% 2,332,033 33.32% 2,344,893 33.51% -12,860 -459
  DOMK $-0.430 -17.55% 200,519 20.05% 455,821 45.59% -255,302 -5,937
  JBII $-0.140 -11.38% 65,754 41.89% 87,299 55.62% -21,545 -1,539
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CTC with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.15000 and a Friction Factor of -1,409 shares. That means that it only took 1,409 more shares of selling than buying to move CTC lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
