April 24, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3734 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3307 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2402 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Tuesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BOSTON SCIENTIFIC CORP (NYSE:BSX), Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), VERIZON COMMUNICATIONS INC (NYSE:VZ), MBIA INC (NYSE:MBI), (OTCBB:CSOC), (OTCBB:SEFE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction BSX $0.190 3.24% 7,174,046 31.27% 4,303,239 18.75% 2,870,807 151,095 SIRI $0.050 2.34% 23,181,015 57.41% 17,099,934 42.35% 6,081,081 1,216,216 VZ $0.930 2.41% 7,031,745 34.74% 5,270,070 26.04% 1,761,675 18,943 MBI $0.360 3.81% 2,227,749 59.15% 571,048 15.16% 1,656,701 46,019 CSOC $0.011 339.39% 44,050,676 50.49% 36,390,739 41.71% 7,659,937 6,839,229 SEFE $0.390 16.96% 7,986,218 50.72% 6,500,401 41.28% 1,485,817 38,098Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows BSX with a Net Buy Volume of 2,870,807 shares and a Friction Factor of 151,095 shares. That means that it takes 151,095 more shares of buying than selling to move BSX higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Tuesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
