March 2, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3584 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2101 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3838 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. WEBMEDIABRANDS INC (NASDAQ:WEBM), SINO CLEAN ENERGY INC (OTC:SCEI), Shutterfly Inc (NASDAQ:SFLY), SBM OFFSHORE NV (OTC:SBFFF), VRINGO INC (AMEX:VRNG), Ku6 Media Co Ltd (NASDAQ:KUTV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     WEBM $0.340 44.74% 386,531 61.59% 241,019 38.41% 145,512 4,280
     SCEI $0.640 30.19% 3,222,559 51.40% 3,046,940 48.60% 175,619 2,744
     SFLY $4.310 16.02% 4,466,318 50.61% 4,312,733 48.87% 153,585 356
     SBFFF $2.450 13.82% 44,998 57.89% 27,529 35.42% 17,469 71
     VRNG $0.280 19.44% 968,380 38.37% 689,605 27.33% 278,775 9,956
     KUTV $0.360 18.27% 917,637 56.66% 701,950 43.34% 215,687 5,991
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows WEBM with a dollar gain Friday of $0.34000 and a Friction Factor of 4,280 shares. That means that it only took 4,280 more shares of buying than selling to move WEBM higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
