February 21, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3893 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3054 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3238 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Tuesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. THRESHOLD PHARMACEUTICALS (NASDAQ:THLD), BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY (NYSE:GE), NetApp Inc (NASDAQ:NTAP), CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     THLD $1.470 41.64% 15,285,593 54.66% 12,575,774 44.97% 2,709,819 18,434
     BAC $0.080 1.00% 109,433,712 35.45% 95,737,379 31.01% 13,696,333 1,712,042
     GE $0.130 0.67% 15,986,261 38.32% 11,538,538 27.66% 4,447,723 342,133
     NTAP $0.800 1.90% 6,290,444 64.93% 3,367,979 34.77% 2,922,465 36,531
     CSCO $0.080 0.39% 25,009,274 57.82% 18,236,286 42.16% 6,772,988 846,624
     MSFT $0.170 0.54% 28,270,764 54.10% 23,626,849 45.21% 4,643,915 273,171
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows THLD with a Net Buy Volume of 2,709,819 shares and a Friction Factor of 18,434 shares. That means that it takes 18,434 more shares of buying than selling to move THLD higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Tuesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
