February 15, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4008 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2469 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3227 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Wednesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY (NYSE:GE), FREEPORT-MCMORAN COPPER (NYSE:FCX), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT), Oracle Corp (NASDAQ:ORCL), (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BAC $-0.200 -2.51% 108,969,125 31.85% 128,999,715 37.70% -20,030,590 -1,001,530
     GE $-0.190 -1.00% 10,729,874 26.26% 13,004,447 31.83% -2,274,573 -119,714
     FCX $-0.550 -1.28% 6,828,456 27.44% 9,135,386 36.71% -2,306,930 -41,944
     MSFT $-0.190 -0.63% 19,367,968 44.28% 24,043,896 54.97% -4,675,928 -246,101
     ORCL $-0.110 -0.38% 15,275,986 44.47% 18,935,421 55.12% -3,659,435 -332,676
     QQQ $-0.400 -0.63% 38,544,685 40.05% 44,289,627 46.02% -5,744,942 -143,624
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BAC down $-0.20000 with a Friction Factor of -1,001,530 and a Net Volume of -20,030,590. That means that it takes 1,001,530 more shares of selling than buying to drop BAC by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
