January 31, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3777 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3281 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2667 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Pinnacle Airlines Corp (NASDAQ:PNCL), KEY TRONIC CORP (NASDAQ:KTCC), UR-ENERGY INC (AMEX:URG), VRINGO INC (AMEX:VRNG), Rare Element Resources Limited (AMEX:REE), ECOLAND INTERNATIONAL INCORPORATED (OTC:ECIT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     PNCL $0.410 41.41% 919,538 54.23% 772,892 45.58% 146,646 3,577
     KTCC $1.770 28.50% 38,684 49.93% 37,592 48.52% 1,092 6
     URG $0.240 20.87% 437,998 18.50% 304,899 12.88% 133,099 5,546
     VRNG $0.210 18.10% 943,155 34.66% 892,290 32.79% 50,865 2,422
     REE $1.160 18.86% 3,162,181 34.30% 2,859,701 31.02% 302,480 2,608
     ECIT $0.250 30.12% 3,201,872 43.00% 2,979,655 40.02% 222,217 8,889
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PNCL with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.41000 and a Friction Factor of 3,577 shares. That means that it only took 3,577 more shares of buying than selling to move PNCL higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
