On Tuesday there were 3777 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3281 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2667 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction NOK $-0.020 -0.40% 14,974,084 35.46% 9,481,876 22.45% 5,492,208 Abnormal RSH $-3.050 -29.81% 19,296,519 40.38% 16,115,526 33.72% 3,180,993 Abnormal AVP $-0.220 -1.24% 7,095,205 46.53% 3,839,702 25.18% 3,255,503 Abnormal NSC $-0.720 -0.98% 4,246,998 50.22% 1,466,278 17.34% 2,780,720 Abnormal ARIA $-0.110 -0.74% 5,069,767 73.14% 2,745,408 39.61% 2,324,359 Abnormal QQQ $-0.150 -0.25% 28,373,324 55.31% 24,876,777 48.49% 3,496,547 AbnormalAnalysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows NOK with 5,492,208 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.02000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
