January 23, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3816 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3256 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2641 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BROADVISION INC (NASDAQ:BVSN), SPANISH BROADCASTING SYS-A (NASDAQ:SBSA), LEE ENTERPRISES (NYSE:LEE), Penson Worldwide Inc (NASDAQ:PNSN), LIVEDEAL INC (NASDAQ:LIVE), Proteonomix Inc (OTC:PROT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BVSN $5.880 21.78% 669,601 52.73% 579,651 45.65% 89,950 153
     SBSA $1.150 26.26% 396,113 52.95% 339,375 45.36% 56,738 493
     LEE $0.210 23.60% 452,230 43.58% 337,243 32.50% 114,987 5,476
     PNSN $0.280 24.35% 141,131 65.54% 74,198 34.46% 66,933 2,390
     LIVE $0.590 20.28% 208,988 58.91% 138,593 39.06% 70,395 1,193
     PROT $0.910 38.08% 266,400 50.31% 256,127 48.37% 10,273 113
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BVSN with a dollar gain Monday of $5.88000 and a Friction Factor of 153 shares. That means that it only took 153 more shares of buying than selling to move BVSN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
