January 9, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3786 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3452 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2443 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC), Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), AVON PRODUCTS INC (NYSE:AVP), PETROLEO BRASILEIRO S.A.-ADR (NYSE:PBR), ALCOA INC. (NYSE:AA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     PFE $0.210 0.97% 13,562,409 46.56% 9,283,665 31.87% 4,278,744 203,750
     BAC $0.080 1.29% 85,326,294 36.13% 75,956,818 32.17% 9,369,476 1,171,185
     SIRI $0.050 2.50% 41,314,269 55.94% 32,533,601 44.05% 8,780,668 1,756,134
     AVP $0.060 0.34% 7,147,869 66.98% 1,564,339 14.66% 5,583,530 930,588
     PBR $1.210 4.71% 9,949,213 38.30% 5,935,964 22.85% 4,013,249 33,167
     AA $0.270 2.95% 19,037,085 34.72% 16,132,074 29.42% 2,905,011 107,593
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE with a Net Buy Volume of 4,278,744 shares and a Friction Factor of 203,750 shares. That means that it takes 203,750 more shares of buying than selling to move PFE higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
