January 9, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3786 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3452 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2443 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BON-TON STORES INC/THE (NASDAQ:BONT), Inhibitex Inc (NASDAQ:INHX), LCA Vision Inc (NASDAQ:LCAV), LANTRONIX INC (NASDAQ:LTRX), ACHILLION PHARMACEUTICALS (NASDAQ:ACHN), PAN ORIENT ENERGY CORP (OTC:POEFF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BONT $0.800 29.52% 395,536 65.01% 212,880 34.99% 182,656 2,283
     INHX $13.830 140.12% 17,999,108 52.16% 16,355,664 47.40% 1,643,444 1,188
     LCAV $1.400 30.84% 409,672 56.02% 317,483 43.42% 92,189 658
     LTRX $0.560 24.35% 75,166 57.79% 54,711 42.06% 20,455 365
     ACHN $1.800 22.73% 3,114,026 51.67% 2,713,988 45.03% 400,038 2,222
     POEFF $0.430 21.77% 56,100 51.14% 51,605 47.04% 4,495 105
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BONT with a dollar gain Monday of $0.80000 and a Friction Factor of 2,283 shares. That means that it only took 2,283 more shares of buying than selling to move BONT higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
