January 6, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3789 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2585 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3095 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Banco Santander SA (NYSE:STD), Cemex SAB de CV (NYSE:CX), AT&T INC (NYSE:T), RF Micro Devices Inc (NASDAQ:RFMD), ALCATEL-LUCENT-SPONSORED ADR (NYSE:ALU), ANGLO AMERICAN PLC-UNSP ADR (OTC:AAUKY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     STD $-0.230 -3.23% 10,719,179 45.92% 3,106,196 13.31% 7,612,983 Abnormal
     CX $-0.140 -2.51% 7,592,571 32.71% 5,175,772 22.30% 2,416,799 Abnormal
     T $-0.720 -2.37% 11,650,291 34.48% 9,321,815 27.59% 2,328,476 Abnormal
     RFMD $-1.090 -19.34% 17,723,564 53.29% 15,925,796 47.89% 1,797,768 Abnormal
     ALU $-0.020 -1.27% 4,247,147 49.95% 2,209,202 25.98% 2,037,945 Abnormal
     AAUKY $-0.091 -0.48% 2,128,097 66.62% 86,790 2.72% 2,041,307 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Friday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows STD with 7,612,983 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.23000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
