January 4, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3609 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2728 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2975 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. UQM Technologies Inc (AMEX:UQM), Flotek Industries Inc (NYSE:FTK), WAVEFRONT TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIO (OTC:WFTSF), AMERICAN DG ENERGY INC (AMEX:ADGE), Rare Element Resources Limited (AMEX:REE), COMPLETE GENOMICS INC (NASDAQ:GNOM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     UQM $0.200 14.08% 103,360 38.08% 81,298 29.96% 22,062 1,103
     FTK $1.660 15.78% 2,592,643 39.08% 2,212,229 33.35% 380,414 2,292
     WFTSF $0.144 14.75% 61,536 52.85% 51,400 44.14% 10,136 704
     ADGE $0.220 14.86% 35,667 30.79% 28,849 24.90% 6,818 310
     REE $0.740 20.79% 1,337,612 35.70% 1,196,464 31.93% 141,148 1,907
     GNOM $0.610 21.03% 618,754 55.66% 491,122 44.18% 127,632 2,092
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows UQM with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.20000 and a Friction Factor of 1,103 shares. That means that it only took 1,103 more shares of buying than selling to move UQM higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
