January 3, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3828 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4616 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1576 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. A123 SYSTEMS, INCORPORATION (NASDAQ:AONE), HKN INC (AMEX:HKN), VERMILLION INC (NASDAQ:VRML), Washington Mutual Ut (OTC:WAHUQ), VERO ENERGY INC (OTC:VREYF), (NYSE:USLV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     AONE $0.360 22.36% 2,275,983 56.56% 1,747,204 43.42% 528,779 14,688
     HKN $0.410 19.25% 39,815 34.68% 28,824 25.11% 10,991 268
     VRML $0.290 24.79% 173,445 66.08% 89,052 33.92% 84,393 2,910
     WAHUQ $0.720 56.25% 103,719 40.16% 29,247 11.33% 74,472 1,034
     VREYF $0.570 28.21% 40,600 43.66% 36,700 39.46% 3,900 68
     USLV $5.900 21.49% 164,918 48.30% 111,452 32.64% 53,466 91
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AONE with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.36000 and a Friction Factor of 14,688 shares. That means that it only took 14,688 more shares of buying than selling to move AONE higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
