December 30, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 4327 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3413 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2863 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. MOSYS INC (NASDAQ:MOSY), ALLIANCE HEALTHCARE SERVICE (NYSE:AIQ), BRITTON & KOONTZ CAPITAL CRP (NASDAQ:BKBK), NEPTUNE TECH & BIORESSOURCES (NASDAQ:NEPT), MERU NETWORKS INC (NASDAQ:MERU), Ku6 Media Co Ltd (NASDAQ:KUTV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     MOSY $1.090 36.70% 1,016,559 49.35% 1,010,074 49.03% 6,485 59
     AIQ $0.210 19.81% 49,494 21.27% 45,547 19.57% 3,947 188
     BKBK $1.480 24.63% 75,348 59.80% 30,986 24.59% 44,362 300
     NEPT $0.650 28.51% 86,056 60.15% 50,312 35.17% 35,744 550
     MERU $0.710 20.76% 96,919 57.35% 71,577 42.35% 25,342 357
     KUTV $0.400 50.00% 238,350 57.55% 175,005 42.26% 63,345 1,584
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MOSY with a dollar gain Friday of $1.09000 and a Friction Factor of 59 shares. That means that it only took 59 more shares of buying than selling to move MOSY higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
