On Friday there were 3785 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3591 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2320 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. MEDINAH MINERALS INC (OTC:MDMN), AT&T INC (NYSE:T), MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS INC (NYSE:MSI), SANDRIDGE ENERGY INC (NYSE:SD), CAREVIEW COMMUNICATIONS INC (OTC:CRVW), GENON ENERGY INC (NYSE:GEN). Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction MDMN $0.011 19.64% 2,805,383 37.10% 4,756,820 62.90% -1,951,437 Abnormal T $0.240 0.81% 5,187,947 28.89% 6,111,362 34.03% -923,415 Abnormal MSI $0.420 0.92% 539,871 20.05% 1,483,616 55.09% -943,745 Abnormal SD $0.350 4.26% 8,642,810 32.33% 9,704,327 36.31% -1,061,517 Abnormal CRVW $0.040 2.76% 212,400 6.12% 1,759,011 50.67% -1,546,611 Abnormal GEN $0.060 2.35% 3,042,507 31.69% 4,085,125 42.55% -1,042,618 AbnormalAnalysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows MDMN with 1,951,437 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.01100. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
