Market Maker Surveillance Report. AMPE, EGAN, ANLY, ADES, TWER, VHC, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Monday, Dec
December 19, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3541 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1602 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5158 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. AMPIO PHARMACEUTICALS INC (OTC:AMPE), EGAIN COMMUNICATIONS CORP (OTCBB:EGAN), ANALYSTS INTERNATIONAL CORP (NASDAQ:ANLY), ADA-ES Inc (NASDAQ:ADES), TOWERSTREAM CORP (NASDAQ:TWER), VIRNETX HOLDING CORP (AMEX:VHC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction AMPE $0.700 16.39% 92,786 54.62% 76,009 44.75% 16,777 240 EGAN $0.600 9.66% 44,047 55.99% 33,924 43.12% 10,123 169 ANLY $0.790 15.77% 73,219 63.99% 41,211 36.01% 32,008 405 ADES $2.110 10.56% 179,612 52.30% 154,005 44.85% 25,607 121 TWER $0.290 15.18% 536,457 52.75% 480,499 47.25% 55,958 1,930 VHC $3.510 16.53% 1,693,422 33.62% 1,631,897 32.40% 61,525 175Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows AMPE with a dollar gain Monday of $0.70000 and a Friction Factor of 240 shares. That means that it only took 240 more shares of buying than selling to move AMPE higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
