December 13, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3669 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1676 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4593 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. CHENIERE ENERGY INC (AMEX:LNG), AMPIO PHARMACEUTICALS INC (OTC:AMPE), HOVNANIAN ENTERPRISES-A (NYSE:HOV), Washington Mutual Ut (OTC:WAHUQ), ALIMERA SCIENCES INC (NASDAQ:ALIM), FEDERAL NATIONAL MTG ASSN Non Cum Pfd Ser R 7.625% (OTC:FNMAP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     LNG $-1.740 -17.33% 1,039,527 31.41% 1,043,721 31.53% -4,194 -24
     AMPE $-2.370 -32.16% 202,920 40.99% 289,722 58.52% -86,802 -366
     HOV $-0.240 -14.46% 572,603 33.58% 708,882 41.57% -136,279 -5,678
     WAHUQ $-0.540 -18.18% 28,454 10.87% 84,608 32.32% -56,154 -1,040
     ALIM $-0.340 -18.99% 437,394 37.49% 728,269 62.42% -290,875 -8,555
     FNMAP $-0.430 -19.55% 36,600 44.42% 45,800 55.58% -9,200 -214
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LNG with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-1.74000 and a Friction Factor of -24 shares. That means that it only took 24 more shares of selling than buying to move LNG lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
