December 7, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3895 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2865 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3093 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. ZOOM TECHNOLOGIES INC (NASDAQ:ZOOM), THQ INC (NASDAQ:THQI), ENTRAVISION COMMUNICATIONS-A (NYSE:EVC), CLEARWIRE CORP-CLASS A (NASDAQ:CLWR), OCEAN POWER TECHNOLOGIES INC (NASDAQ:OPTT), LIGHTBRIDGE CORP (NASDAQ:LTBR). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     ZOOM $-0.200 -13.51% 453,326 43.10% 587,388 55.84% -134,062 -6,703
     THQI $-0.180 -10.98% 1,866,679 48.52% 1,980,763 51.48% -114,084 -6,338
     EVC $-0.230 -13.29% 31,144 22.92% 51,781 38.10% -20,637 -897
     CLWR $-0.230 -9.20% 15,129,572 48.26% 16,021,678 51.10% -892,106 -38,787
     OPTT $-0.570 -15.20% 87,451 37.67% 144,714 62.33% -57,263 -1,005
     LTBR $-0.240 -9.41% 27,157 35.02% 50,381 64.98% -23,224 -968
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ZOOM with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.20000 and a Friction Factor of -6,703 shares. That means that it only took 6,703 more shares of selling than buying to move ZOOM lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
