November 30, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3465 companies with "abnormal" market making, 5268 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1711 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ZOLTEK COMPANIES INC (NASDAQ:ZOLT), JAMES RIVER COAL CO (NASDAQ:JRCC), AVALON RARE METALS INC (AMEX:AVL), GLEACHER & CO INC (NASDAQ:GLCH), GLG LIFE TECH CORP (NASDAQ:GLGL), PROLOR BIOTECH INC (AMEX:PBTH). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     ZOLT $2.050 35.76% 907,304 55.20% 718,785 43.73% 188,519 920
     JRCC $1.440 21.08% 1,950,024 53.81% 1,666,914 46.00% 283,110 1,966
     AVL $0.630 23.25% 468,768 29.46% 441,025 27.72% 27,743 440
     GLCH $0.270 26.47% 516,491 72.86% 190,675 26.90% 325,816 12,067
     GLGL $0.370 48.05% 392,074 54.03% 333,649 45.97% 58,425 1,579
     PBTH $0.770 21.45% 100,469 59.45% 30,783 18.22% 69,686 905
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ZOLT with a dollar gain Wednesday of $2.05000 and a Friction Factor of 920 shares. That means that it only took 920 more shares of buying than selling to move ZOLT higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
