November 28, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 4076 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4233 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1918 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. NEOPROBE CORP (AMEX:NEOP), COMMERCIAL METALS CO (NYSE:CMC), CEMEX SAB-SPONS ADR PART CER (NYSE:CX), CGX ENERGY INC (OTC:CGXEF), DEX ONE CORP (NYSE:DEXO), AVANIR PHARMACEUTICALS INC-A (NASDAQ:AVNR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     NEOP $0.420 20.49% 219,529 34.57% 188,771 29.73% 30,758 732
     CMC $2.720 23.76% 3,930,164 33.44% 3,725,483 31.70% 204,681 753
     CX $0.680 19.65% 4,999,369 31.17% 4,373,463 27.27% 625,906 9,205
     CGXEF $0.171 18.41% 386,208 86.22% 57,735 12.89% 328,473 19,209
     DEXO $0.230 29.79% 2,134,617 38.35% 1,836,324 32.99% 298,293 12,969
     AVNR $0.550 27.50% 2,939,126 61.07% 1,873,351 38.93% 1,065,775 19,378
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows NEOP with a dollar gain Monday of $0.42000 and a Friction Factor of 732 shares. That means that it only took 732 more shares of buying than selling to move NEOP higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
