November 22, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3748 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2014 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3703 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. FRONTLINE LTD (NYSE:FRO), SCHOOL SPECIALTY INC (NASDAQ:SCHS), SHIP FINANCE INTL LTD (NYSE:SFL), OVERSEAS SHIPHOLDING GROUP, INC (NYSE:OSG), COMMERZBANK AG-SPONS ADR (OTC:CRZBY), JBI INC (OTC:JBII). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     FRO $-2.150 -41.43% 5,059,584 33.70% 5,395,080 35.93% -335,496 -1,560
     SCHS $-1.850 -26.34% 56,428 44.76% 69,184 54.88% -12,756 -69
     SFL $-3.130 -22.66% 850,505 31.13% 907,993 33.24% -57,488 -184
     OSG $-2.180 -17.33% 826,314 28.93% 889,778 31.15% -63,464 -291
     CRZBY $-0.290 -15.26% 41,077 17.39% 137,957 58.39% -96,880 -3,341
     JBII $-0.280 -21.21% 131,273 22.46% 230,999 39.52% -99,726 -3,562
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FRO with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-2.15000 and a Friction Factor of -1,560 shares. That means that it only took 1,560 more shares of selling than buying to move FRO lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
