November 14, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3613 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1801 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4362 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. GENERAL MOTORS CO (NYSE:GM), QUALCOMM INC (NASDAQ:QCOM), SPIRIT AEROSYSTEMS HOLD-CL A (NYSE:SPR), NETAPP INC (NASDAQ:NTAP), IVANHOE MINES LTD (NYSE:IVN), (NASDAQ:GCVRZ). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     GM $0.480 2.13% 3,291,239 24.58% 3,995,092 29.83% -703,853 Abnormal
     QCOM $0.470 0.83% 7,561,626 45.46% 8,918,109 53.61% -1,356,483 Abnormal
     SPR $0.460 2.41% 683,835 18.26% 2,268,020 60.55% -1,584,185 Abnormal
     NTAP $0.120 0.28% 3,232,317 45.07% 3,930,504 54.80% -698,187 Abnormal
     IVN $0.610 2.97% 462,942 3.68% 10,849,781 86.29% -10,386,839 Abnormal
     GCVRZ $0.150 15.79% 3,729,807 39.19% 5,742,681 60.34% -2,012,874 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GM with 703,853 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.48000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
