On Thursday there were 3813 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3287 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2613 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction TTWO $-1.040 -6.73% 7,320,684 53.26% 6,076,619 44.21% 1,244,065 Abnormal RIMM $-0.450 -2.49% 17,952,436 51.95% 16,392,483 47.43% 1,559,953 Abnormal F $-0.050 -0.45% 15,030,829 29.82% 14,319,971 28.41% 710,858 Abnormal MPEL $-1.330 -12.20% 13,333,958 51.82% 11,947,647 46.43% 1,386,311 Abnormal IL $-0.640 -11.64% 2,125,695 42.88% 1,538,780 31.04% 586,915 Abnormal QQQ $-0.120 -0.21% 33,025,585 51.08% 31,454,983 48.65% 1,570,602 AbnormalAnalysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows TTWO with 1,244,065 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-1.04000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
