November 9, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3411 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1130 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5406 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. RITE AID CORP (NYSE:RAD), SOUTHWEST AIRLINES CO (NYSE:LUV), YAHOO! INC (NASDAQ:YHOO), BEST BUY CO INC (NYSE:BBY), HECKMANN CORP (NYSE:HEK), INTEGRATED FREIGHT CORPORATION NEW (OTCBB:IFCR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     RAD $0.020 1.77% 5,610,023 29.91% 6,008,115 32.03% -398,092 Abnormal
     LUV $0.030 0.32% 2,006,530 30.82% 2,476,559 38.04% -470,029 Abnormal
     YHOO $0.180 1.10% 21,859,432 46.85% 24,724,612 52.99% -2,865,180 Abnormal
     BBY $0.380 1.42% 2,710,546 26.66% 3,015,760 29.67% -305,214 Abnormal
     HEK $0.020 0.32% 1,164,324 30.18% 1,549,111 40.15% -384,787 Abnormal
     IFCR $0.036 45.57% 531,025 34.91% 989,939 65.09% -458,914 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows RAD with 398,092 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.02000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
