Market Maker Surveillance Report. CYTR, MDMN, BIOF, AMLN, SQQQ, POTG, Highest Net Buy Volume With Lowest Price Friction For We
November 9, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3411 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1130 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5406 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CYTRX CORP (NASDAQ:CYTR), MEDINAH MINERALS INC (OTC:MDMN), BIOFUEL ENERGY CORP (NASDAQ:BIOF), AMYLIN PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:AMLN), PROSHARES ULTRAPRO SHORT QQQ (NASDAQ:SQQQ), (OTC:POTG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction CYTR $0.020 6.86% 2,095,705 61.65% 1,303,805 38.35% 791,900 395,950 MDMN $0.014 17.72% 2,448,640 58.95% 1,705,261 41.05% 743,379 530,985 BIOF $0.030 6.17% 1,114,976 64.45% 614,985 35.55% 499,991 166,664 AMLN $0.100 1.03% 2,125,766 54.21% 1,790,333 45.65% 335,433 33,543 SQQQ $1.710 9.53% 2,042,518 57.29% 1,516,746 42.55% 525,772 3,075 POTG $0.052 57.67% 9,636,472 55.44% 7,586,420 43.65% 2,050,052 395,000Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows CYTR with a Net Buy Volume of 791,900 shares and a Friction Factor of 395,950 shares. That means that it takes 395,950 more shares of buying than selling to move CYTR higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
