November 1, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3921 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1257 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4741 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Tuesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. TENET HEALTHCARE CORP (NYSE:THC), MRV COMMUNICATIONS INC (OTC:MRVC), POWER-ONE INC (NASDAQ:PWER), BFC FINANCIAL CORP-CLASS A (OTC:BFCF), JAGUAR MINING INC (NYSE:JAG), MISTRAL VENTURES INC (OTC:MILV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction THC $0.050 1.06% 4,543,091 30.82% 3,774,721 25.61% 768,370 153,674 MRVC $0.050 3.91% 3,270,094 85.26% 425,798 11.10% 2,844,296 568,859 PWER $0.010 0.14% 2,124,748 57.63% 1,561,218 42.34% 563,530 563,530 BFCF $0.250 83.33% 1,923,940 61.95% 1,007,947 32.45% 915,993 36,640 JAG $0.290 5.65% 2,346,109 43.37% 1,594,460 29.48% 751,649 25,919 MILV $0.014 25.71% 31,392,922 54.34% 25,245,561 43.70% 6,147,361 4,269,001Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows THC with a Net Buy Volume of 768,370 shares and a Friction Factor of 153,674 shares. That means that it takes 153,674 more shares of buying than selling to move THC higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Tuesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
